My first week so far

At the moment I am learning the basics of Graphic Design and getting use to the course.

My project - Visual Communication
For my very first project I have to create a piece of art that represents me. Basically who I am, what are my interests, what makes me. Me! Once I start the research and development I should end up with a final piece. For the final creation I will have to create a 3d piece which represents for who I am and then find the best place to place this 3d object. It can’t really just be any place though, it has to be around Salford/Manchester and it has to be a certain place that’s to do with myself [My favourite Pub, Somewhere I sit to think or even just somewhere I have been].

Body Map

For the start of this project I had to create a Body Map which is basically an outline of my body and then I had to fill the inside of this body map with images that represent my own self. I am still working on this body map and will update this post very soon. I am finding the body map itself a little difficult! The actual image is getting filled yet there is still a lot of white space. I will hopefully finish it by this week and be able to explain what each image represents.

Manchester Induction Trip

I was given an orienteering tasking where I had to walk around Manchester to certain museums [Magnum Bookshop, Science museum, ..] then I had to record information to prove that I went there. Disappointingly I forgot my camera and was only able to collect quick sketches + Leaflets which I will probably include in my sketchbook/PDP folder. The whole trip was enjoyable and I really liked the exhibits, I even went back to the Manchester museum just to see the paintings again. One painting really captured me and that’s the chariot race painting by Alexander von Wagner, The detail of the horse's expression was showing great emotion.
